WOW!!!  This is an extremely rare & desirable, earliest 1st pressing white label Promo copy of Led Zeppelin’s stunning 1970 album simply titled “III”. It is in wonderful condition and contains both the very rare Hype sticker with track titles and the Promo sticker intact. The sleeve is very nice with some minor flaws detailed below and the disc appears very well taken care of with no major issues. Again, more details below.

Sleeve: VG+

Sleeve is in very nice condition complete with extremely rare “titles” hype sticker and “Promotional Copy Not For Sale” sticker.  Both stickers are in fine condition, not torn and never having shown signs of trying to be removed, showing only light signs of wear on the hype and some discoloration to the promo sticker. There is some minor damage to the upper left corner as seen in pics and small crease on the rear. Spine is fully legible with light wear present mainly in center. Overall general signs of light wear and From the collection of Bob Senn has been stamped on the rear (most of the records in this collection were stamped by owner. Overall, a nice sleeve with no splits or tears (See pics)

Note: The original owner (more about him below) removed the metal ring (a fairly common thing to do intended to protect the records next to it) but the original spinning wheel is still there. After studying it closely, someone must’ve been bored and traced one of the faces in with blue pen but it’s not immediately obvious (I nearly missed it). (See pics).

Disc: VG+ (Visual Grade...play check may be requested) 

Nice glossy sheen and a very small amount of light, superficial marks visible when tilted under bright light. Mainly, there is one row of very light superficial scuffs that are visible when tilted under bright light that I have included in one photo. Absolutely nothing deep or feelable...I wouldn’t expect any major audio issues. As with the entire collection, this was a copy that was intended for airplay and this one does appear to have been played more than most in the collection but was obviously handled very carefully! I find this a neat thought: If you lived near Santa Barbara, California in the 70’s and heard any tracks from this album on KRSW, this was the copy you were listening to!

Labels: VG to VG+

Very nice, RARE white promotional labels show some evidence of play. A small red spot on one side and the “3” next to “That’s The Way” is circled in blue pen in the other. (Must have been his most preferred track for airplay). Some light rubbing/discoloration is evident mostly on side 2 (See pics)

Original, crisp Atlantic advertising inner is included...3” split on bottom and 1” split on one side.

This copy is from the collection of Bob Senn - a renowned Santa Barbara, California DJ and program director for KTMS FM “The Rock on the Coast”. When Mr. Senn passed, his collection was acquired by my friend who has commissioned me to help sell them. There are thousands of records in the collection, almost all promotional copies that are in excellent to near mint condition.

Grading System:

SS (Still Sealed)

Unopened records, still in original shrink wrap. In original manufactured condition unless otherwise noted (i.e. evidence of mildew or bent corners, etc.)

M (Mint)

The record and sleeve are in perfect, original condition. The record may have been played but will have no evidence of deterioration. (I will only use this grade on SEALED records that appear to be Mint as I believe any non-new, opened record cannot be truly called MINT.

NM (Near Mint)

A nearly perfect record. Any visible defects are of the type that "disappear" when the record is tilted under a strong light and they should not affect play. Sleeves in near mint condition will have no obvious signs of wear. Practically imperceptible ring wear may be allowed but no creases, seam-splits, or other easily detected flaws will be present.

EX (Excellent)

A very clean record. Near mint except for slight, superficial signs of wear. Sleeves in this condition may have marginal defects, but will not have significant creases or splits.

VG+ (Very Good Plus)

A well-cared-for record that is noticeably less than perfect, but defects are not visually or audibly distracting. Record surfaces may have slight scuffs or light scratches, but are still primarily clean. Sleeves may have some creases or minor ring wear, but should not be split.

VG (Very Good)

A used, reasonable copy to play. Many of the defects found in a VG+ copy will be more pronounced in VG condition. Surface noise may be evident and sleeves may look worn, but the record is still a decent copy.

G (Good)

A well-worn record that is still playable. Good does not necessarily mean "bad" but a record in this condition will have audible distractions and may have visible groove wear. Sleeves may have all manner of defects, but are still intact.

FA (Fair) and P (Poor)

These grades are for beat-up records. I will only sell records in these grades if they are extremely rare and sought-after.
