Description

An original 1st press of Zep III on the UK Red & Plum Atlantic label. Matrix A5/B5 - very 1st cut. Please note that the labels are technically the 2nd label variation, but would have been available for sale in the 1st month of release. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original deluxe gatefold cover printed by E J Day with fully operational spinning wheel. Also included is the original plastic bag warning inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome, or that would feature in the audio. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one tiny deviation.  A superb playing copy and delivering everything one could possibly hope for from this Zep classic. Intros and inbetweens are really very quiet and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. These early copies are acclaimed for their audio and this example does not disappoint. It has all the power and authority for the tracks like 'Immigrant' and the poise and quiet background that will allow you to properly enjoy 'Since I've Been Loving You' . Interference is very very minor indeed and infrequent. All I could detect were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The one minuscule deviation was two minor ticks in 'Gallows Pole'. A superb rendition which you would have a hard enough time equalling, let alone bettering.
Cover (Ex) In beautiful condition and seems to have largely avoided the ageing process. The front is very nice and clean without wear to those die-cut circles and just a couple of tiny creases. The rear is equally good with only just a couple of tiny creases and none of that dreaded laminate creasing which afflicts many copies. The interior is pretty much immaculate and looks impressive. Edge wear is light for this title and all the text on the spine is legible. There is, however, one small and minor knock two thirds of the way up the spine [no big deal]. Overall the cover lies totally flat and retains perfect rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Slight ageing. A two inch edge split.
