COMMENTS: THE LEGENDARY Ludwig cut, better than many out there. Vinyl shows wear in the form of general scuffing, a few marks on side 2 as shown. VPI cleaned. A complete play test indicated audible surface noise during quieter passages with very good playback in general and no skips. Side one plays a solid VG - background noise is evident, but this is minimal. Side two is VG - There are a few audible clicks on “Ramble On” and “Moby Dick”, but nothing that will ruin the listening experience. Matte cover has been graded VG+ with minimal corner wear, 2” small seam split along the top. I literally didn’t notice it until I decided to list it. Original Atlantic inner sleeve included. This record will be shipped in a protective outer sleeve, with the vinyl in a poly-lined inner sleeve for your convenience and satisfaction.
TRACK RUNDOWN:
A1 Whole Lotta Love - When Robert Plant sings “you need coolin’”, it just jumps out of your speakers. Drums and bass are well-defined, the psych-out section is so pronounced as it goes back and forth. One audible pop during “way down inside...” Plays a strong VG!
A2 What Is And What Never Should Be - Great dynamics! The difference between this and the recut is night and day, and it show really shows on this track. Plays VG.
A3 The Lemon Song - A few clicks during “keep you satisfied”, nothing terrible. Plays VG.
A4 Thank You - A few small pops on the fade-in. Other than that, this plays a solid VG.
B1 Heartbreaker - JPJ’s bass will blow you away, and leave your speakers begging for mercy! I’d say this plays VG+ , more VG during Page’s solo.
B2 Livin’ Lovin’ Maid - The stereo separation on Jimmy’s guitar is great. Plays VG.
B3 Ramble On - There are audible clicks throughout, but nothing terrible. These get buried in the mix once the song gets going. There are louder clicks as the song fades away. This song plays a flat VG.
B4 Moby Dick - Like Ramble On, surface noise is a bit of a problem. Plays through with audible clicks and pops, but get drowned out once Bonzo starts pounding away. The Dynamics are incredible on this one! Plays VG-, if I’m being honest.
B5 Bring It On Home - Blues intro plays VG-, plays VG for the rest. Bonzo’s drums LEAP out of the speakers on this one!
