Description

A  Red and Plum Zep II 1st issue as it charted and demand was HIGH. Atlantic had to enlist pressing plant support from PYE in th UK. These copies are monster heavy and you can spot them with the concentric rings on the label and the MATRIX A/B.  As good as you could hope to find from an audio perspective AND cover too. Heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original cover. LEMON SONG ON LABELS.
Vinyl (Ex/Ex-) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Just clean riffage - even in the lowkey moments! A couple of lit marks per side and one very small more substantial mark [see detail]  A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT level of playback with just one deviation. This is a very high standard of preservation for Zep Red & Plum. Intros and inbetweens are really quiet and the audio comes across with ssuperb clarity. Nice detailed sound...plenty of dynamics...good snappy percussion and drumming....The audio is absolutely top dollar...clean feeder  into the quiet moments. ONE ISSUE. The mark mentioned above is in the opening moments of RAMBLE. You'll get a couple of ticks and one click/semi-jump...essentially it just omits the phrase 'Much obliged' - that is all. So, whilst not ideal..I don't feel that is the end-of-the-world by any means. And essentially it plays total kick-ass the whole of the rest of theway through...heavy as hell... Detailed too and all the percussive sounds [JOhn B]....sound...absolutely amazing. [Quite honestly -- a clean MOBYD...is HIGHLY unusual]. I'd have to argue the resolving potential here, due to pressing quality and preservation, is as good as I've witnessed on any original ZepII. IN fact, this is quite possibly the best Moby D --- I can remember. It so clean....it's like you're miked direct into John's drumsticks! But don't think it ends here --- this copy is top-rate throughout....Power and detail combined. BRING IT ALL B HOME --- just sounds like a whole new track if you witness it fully clean...stunning. If you really want to hear all the vocal acrobatics in Zep II ...for the 1st time...this is the sort of standard u need to hit. Just remember - ONE very brief issue... the rest is just out-of-this-world good.
Cover (Ex-)  Highly unusual...lovely clean surfaces this copy still looks amazing. Minimal edge wear and the openings are still sharp. The spine is 90% intact with all text legible . Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
