Description

Led Zeppelin I Classic Records 4LP Single Sided 45 RPM TEST PRESSING - #25 of only 45 copies pressed! One of THE most significant debut albums in history. This copy is SEALED and MINT!

While some folks don't like the 45 RPM format (yes, you do have to get up and change sides more often), it's not hype: with more vinyl real estate for your stylus to operate within, volume levels are maintained consistently across all tracks (with 33 1/3, as you get closer to the inner groove you will lose volume because the grooves get smaller), and there's LOTS more room for the bass frequencies. A mastering engineer has to juggle all these factors when pressing at 33 1/3, usually leading to a variety of sonic compromises. The common wisdom in the audiophile community is that, when done well, 45 rpm pressings are as close as you'll get to the master tape.
Classic Records took that level of care to yet another level with single sided pressings. Here too, it’s not hype: The reason 180gm (or heavier) vinyl is considered “audiophile” grade is that with thinner vinyl, the grooves pressed on one side of the LP can intrude upon the grooves on the OTHER side of the record,  introducing unwanted noise or artifacts during playback. Thicker vinyl reduces or eliminates the unwanted audio additives. SINGLE SIDED pressings, therefore, avoid the issue entirely.
But WAIT! Classic took it to a whole OTHER level with their clarity vinyl. The black vinyl record we all know and love is not naturally black in color. Clarity Vinyl has no carbon black additive, common in vinyl formulas for LP's. Carbon Black contains trace metals that become magnetized and cause "electrical distortions" in cartridges during playback that smears the sound. By taking out the Carbon Black, Classic Records is able to dramatically reduce the "electrical distortions" and thus bring more "Clarity" to the playback process, providing a more realistic musical experience to the listener and LP enthusiast.
I was lucky enough to purchase the holy grail of Led Zep reissues: the Classic Records Led Zep catalogue pressed on 44 single sided 45 RPM records, packaged in a custom made crate. The project met with numerous delays because Jimmy Page was so closely involved in the production and he was meticulous about the sound. It was definitely worth the wait as you will NEVER hear the Zep catalogue sound better than these records (except, arguably, Bob Ludwig’s original U.S. master of Led Zep II; that is a pretty awesome cut!).
Whether you're a fanatical fan, an astute investor, or both, it's worth asking yourself: do you REALLY think Led Zep rarities are going to decline in value? I don't see it happening! Here’s your chance to hear one of THE most important debuts in rock history, with sound as close as you’re likely to get to the master tape!!

About Me: I'm a long time Ebay buyer intent on selling a significant portion of my LP collection over the next year or two (or three!). I believe in the auction process, so I'm NOT going to list records at absurdly high prices, and I look forward to getting rare, out of print records into the hands of music lovers, record collectors and audiophiles (I consider myself all of the above). All LPS stored in a smoke-free, climate controlled environment.

Please check my feedback and BID WITH CONFIDENCE. Also, please take a look at other items I'm listing (including Buy-It-Now, high quality titles at bargain prices), and good luck!
