Description

This auction is for a NEW copy of the 4-LP box set of Led Zeppelin, "Destroyer." I bought this new when it came out, and it has never been played.

This pressing was released by DRGM Enterprises and The Led Zeppelin Fan Clubs International (Catalog Number DRGM505). This first pressing is the rarest version, and was strictly limited to members of the fan club.

The records are contained in a unique, hinged storage case, similar to a film reel case. The copy in this auction features the gray case; most copies of this you see are the later pressings with the black case, and not all of the later pressings were in hinged cases. Some were just in a typical box like most box sets.

This pressing has printed labels on both sides of the album, and each album's label is a different color (see photos). This also differs from later versions.

Each disc comes in a plain white album cover (not pictured). Inside the album covers, each disc is in a protective, non-friction lined paper sleeve.

Note the placard with the "cover art." It was never attached to the outside of the cover, and hence does not suffer from the wear that is prevalent on most copies for sale. Many of these placards either became unattached from the case and some owners used transparent tape to reattach them (YIKES!) or the placards faded over time. This placard was always stored inside the case, and thus never subject to shelf wear or exposed to light that would have faded it.
