1st UK pressing, version 1 with Peter Grant credit on both labels and with the inverted feather symbol on Side Two. The rarest version and now catching up with the turquoise sleeve version of the first album in its status as a Led Zeppelin collector's holy grail.
Vinyl: Very Good to Very Good+. Some background crackle in places but a generally clean copy with very attractive version 1 labels. Light marks only - more so on Side 1, with the most visible running across into the Stairway intro but no repeated clicks audible, just light background crackle. After the intro it plays beautifully. There are two unexplained circular patterns on side 2 - see photos. Side 2 is in close to Excellent condition with superb audio - clearly less played than side one which is often the case with this record. Overall a very sound and presentable example - conservatively graded - that would grace any collection.
Sleeve: Very Good to Very Good+. A sound example of the original matt finish gatefold sleeve with pinkish tinge to the rear and slightly more flimsy feel than the reissues which they are often swapped for.
Inner/inserts: The inner sleeve is surprisingly well preserved with, incredibly, no splits. A lovely example. The vinyl has clearly been stored separately for some time - if not from day one - as these fragile inners are usually found in a terrible state! Excellent.
