ALBUM PLAYED FOR GRADING:

Yes – brilliant! - NEAR MINT sound quality throughout!

This great record plays up to the high visual grading and beyond. Outstanding Audio performance, throughout, this is a staggering piece of vinyl. 

I will give a detailed sound check to let you know the quality of this great collectors vinyl. 

With very clean run in grooves, the music bursts into 'Immigrant Song' with great power and clarity.  'Since I've Been Loving You' , always a difficult track, has great, clear, vibrant sound. Again with 'Gallows Pole', some very light background static at the start, but then moving into very clear vibrant sound. The mandolin sings out as does the banjo, which comes in with great towards the end. The quieter tracks of 'Tangerine' and 'Thats the way' sound fantastic, lovely rich quality.

This is a great pleasure to listen to, a lovely copy of Zep 3, and one of the best I have heard. No pops, clicks or distortion what so ever!!! There is some very light background static between tracks and in quieter parts, but it is in no way prominent. The music has a clarity and richness that is so hard to find on these original vinyls.

A great all round example of this great Zeppelin vinyl!

THE RECORD - VISUAL GRADING -  NEAR MINT

A stunning piece of thick glossy vinyl. 

Great  sheen, this vinyl has no serious marks or wear, with crisp clear unworn grooves. This great example has NO hairlines, and virtually no marks at all to be seen under a spotlight. A coupe of faint whispy lines that are almost impossible to detect. Its a stunning piece, easily warranting a NEAR MINT grading!

VINYL TESTED FOR ANY SIGNS OF WARPING:

Yes, NONE visible what so ever when tested be sight and on a moving turntable.

THE COVER – EXCELLENT PLUS

This is a great example of the classic Zep 3 album cover, and a 1st ever UK press cover too! An original first UK press cover, with prefect working wheel, sitting snugly on its spindle. The front of the gatefold being open at top and bottom, as only the first UK press covers are meant to. All later covers came in a more standardised gatefold format.

The opening edge is very square and un frayed. The inside Gatefold is clean and virtually unmarked. The Spine shows minimal wear only, the spine text is totally intact, and is one of the squarest examples I have seen. A great solid example. All round, this is a really nice cover!!! As with all pressings of Zep 3, there is some yellowing around the edges, but it has NO laminate creases on the back which is very unusual for these 1st press covers. There are NONE of the usual laminate creases across edges, just some light corner wear.

All round, this is a really great example with little to fault it.

THE LABELS - NEAR MINT CONDITION

A lovely set of labels with hardly any spindle traces at all. A couple of light short  traces only. The 1960's red & maroon colours of the Atlantic label are only original pressings, they were re-designed to orange and green colours in late 1971.

All first issues of "Led Zeppelin 3" have two cryptic messages inscribed in the run-out grooves. (The shiny non-music part between the last track and the label!) Side1 has "Do What Thou Wilt" and Side 2 has "So Mote It Be", the Crowley text relates to Jimmy Page and his interest in magic and mysticism. Page is reportedly one of the biggest collectors of Crowley artifacts.

The motto comes exclusively on the first pressing's, adding an air of the mystical to the album.

THE INNER

Comes with Original 1st Press UK "British Patent", MADE IN ENGLAND Ploy Lined Inner sleeve, in EXCELLENT CONDITION. No tears, stains or splits, just some light creasing.

RARITY

It is getting harder and harder to find good examples of early PLUM pressings of Zep 3, and very hard if not almost impossible to find ones in this condition. More than that, this is an Extremely Rare Early UK pressing, with the correct 1st Press cover, and a stunning vinyl in  NEAR MINT condition, along with the rare 'Celebration' misprint on the labels .

A plum LZ III in this type of condition is scarce. The vinyl is so often played so much, heavily marked, scratched, with noisy, poor and distorted sound. Any Plum examples with a record in this type of condition, that plays great, is very rare. What is certain, any plum copy will blow away the orange and green pressings that followed from 1971. The cover is almost impossible to find without serious wear, even modestly worn examples are scarce and this one is one is a stunner. Finding a great cover like this, with a lovely piece of vinyl and truly outstanding audio makes this a true and very rare collectable. fantastic!.

MINT: Virtually unplayed. The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. Cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

V.G PLUS: The record will still be nice and shiny, but may have a few light marks, and will play well. Slight wear and tear on the cover.

V.G: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratch.Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, etc.
