Description
Led Zeppelin's debut LP on UK Atlantic from around the time of release in 1969. Matrix A1/B1. The catalogue number has been corrected in the dead-wax area 588171 [8 crossed out and etched directly above]. The record labels hold the WarnerBros. credits. The record comes housed in an original cover printed by MacNeill Press Ltd. with the original poly-lined inner sleeve. Please note the cover is a very early version with the grey stripe running all the way along the bottom. A beautiful condition original from 1969....100% complete and 100% original.
Cover (Ex) Remains in terrific condition - these early copies often end up a bit tired looking, but this one has survived the years particularly well. Shiny front and rear with only a couple of light creases evident. Edge wear is almost non-existent and there are no hidden splits. There is a bit of light laminate lift along the rear against the spine - and that's pretty much it. The text on the spine is all perfectly readable. Overall the cover also maintains excellent rigidity. Hard to find any better than this in fact...
Vinyl (Ex) A real corker - there can't be too many knocking around in this kind of condition! The labels are absolutely stunning and the vinyl surface is shiny like new. A close inspection of the surface reveals a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT level of playback. Intro and inbetweens are very quiet and the audio comes across with excellent clarity. The sound reproduction on these early copies is absolutely amazing - I don't thing I've ever heard such a full range and wide presentation before on record. Please note there are a handful of light static crackles during 'You Shook Me' - they're very minor and then, other than one or two in the occasional place, there's really nothing else even vaguely worth mentioning. Clearly the combination of a superbly mastered and well preserved record, in this instance, has helped to produce an unrivaled level of playback....you won't be disappointed.
Inner Sleeve (Ex-) Great condition...Very little ageing at all. No splits at all.
