Vinyl Grading Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. Certainly never been played. Should be used sparingly as a grade. Near Mint (NM) A nearly perfect record. The record should show no obvious signs of wear. Very Good Plus (VG+) Will show some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Very Good (VG) Noticeable groove wear and light scratches. Surface noise will not overpower the music. Good Plus (G+) Can play without skipping. Significant scratches, surface noise, and groove wear. Good (G) Can play without skipping. Significant scratches, surface noise, and groove wear. Fair (F) Record is cracked, badly warped, or won't play through without skipping or repeating. Poor (P) Record is cracked, badly warped, or won't play through without skipping or repeating.
Sleeve Grading Generic (GEN) Plain sleeve, may or may not be original Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way. Sealed. Should be used sparingly as a grade. Near Mint (NM) A nearly perfect sleeve. The sleeve should show no obvious signs of wear. Very Good Plus (VG+) Will show some minor signs that it was used and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it. Very Good (VG) Some wear but no significant damage or ringwear. One corner may show a slight bend. Good Plus (G+) Noticeable wear but no significant damage and only minor ringwear. Corners may have been bent slightly. Good (G) Noticeable wear, possibly with small scuffs and obvious ringwear. Corners may have been bent. No tears or significant damage. Fair (F) Sleeve is worn. Corners may have been bent and ringwear is clear. Edges are likely scuffed, possibly with small nicks or tears on edges or corners. Poor (P) Sleeve is damaged. This may include significant wear, bends, rips, scuffed edges. Sleeve may have sticker on or removed leaving a mark.
