ebay Universal Sound's latest treasure is this highly sought after jazz-funk rarity from Roy Ayers and Rick James. 'Ladies Of The 80s' were a female vocal act made up of Susan Beaubia, Marva Hicks, Vivian Prince, Denie Corbett and Sylvia Striplin backed up by Roy and his band with Rick chipping in on production. The sound is quintessential early 80s boogie funk, all ultrafunkular bass licks and ball-hugging disco rhythms beloved of soul boys and jazz heads alike. Anthems like the £100-a-minute slickness of 'Tell Him' and 'Turned On To You' have been staples of the boogie scene for nearly 30 years since the original release in 1980 and still work like dynamite in the club. record grading; i grade records with the standard rating system that is used by most ebay sellers and retailers, which is as follows:

record sleeve grading;
m - mint - unopened
nm - near mint - like new, but has been opened.
vg+ - very good plus - one or two minor flaws, but nothing that takes away from record's value and/or condition.
vg - very good - three or four flaws, perhaps minor wear on the spine (which will be indicated in the listing).
g - good - more than minor wear. rarely do i sell anything that i would grade as "g" unless it's harder to find.

vinyl grading;
m - mint - never played.
nm - near mint - record has been played, but has no scuffs/marks/etc.
vg+ - very good plus - record might have one or two minor marks, but nothing that affects play.
vg - very good - record might have three or four minor marks, but nothing that affects play.
g - good - record may have multiple marks, but nothing that affects play. again, rarely do i sell anything that i would grade as "g" unless it's harder to find.

because the records i sell are from my personal collection, if they are anything less than a VG+/NM grading, it is because they were in a lesser condition when purchased. i sleeve all of my records and keep them safe from harm and neatly organized. all records (unless sealed) have been listened to by me and are skip and pop-free (unless stated).
