La Monte Young
This is an extremely early rare 1968 performance by La Monte Young released only on a 5" reeel-to-reel tape.
It was produced and only made available by S.M.S Magazine, Issue No.4 (NYC 1968), as a gift to select subscribers. It is further believed that only a couple dozen of these were ever made. Obviously handcrafted, these tapes are probably rarer than most other private pressings.
This excerpt from Drift Study 4:37:40 - 5:09:50 PM 5 VIII 68, may be played back at either 7 1/2 or 15 ips, your preference.
The inner insert (See Photo) has become detached but may be easily reglued.
The tape and leader looks as though it was never played appears to be M- (See Photo).
