The album cover says "100% Tennessee Rock & Roll"; hearing The Planet Rockers' slap bass and tough guitar sounds, you'll know these guys came from the same state as Charlie Feathers (though, surprisingly, they hail from Nashville and not Memphis). What will surprise you is that this is a 1991 release, but like Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Trio (Dionysus LP 123314, ) and High Noon (Dojo LP and CD 5013), The Planet Rockers play it like it was 1956. With only one original, the whammy-bar instrumental "Rampage" on the 45 enclosed with the LP, The Planet Rockers come up with fairly obscure covers, blastin' off with Ike Turner's "Trouble up the Road," finishing off (on the 45) with a revved-up cover of Robert Mitchum's "Ballad of Thunder Road," here entitled "Thunder Road Rock." It's a rockin' session from start to finish.
