I bought this LP new in February 1968.
Cover - Shrink on mostly. Part of it missing on front at open end side. 3/8 inch split at bottom corner, open end. EJ Korvette pricing stamp on back cover, top right, on shrink (D in a circle). Bit of discoloring on back cover. Otherwise very nice.
Vinyl - Some rubs. Plays with no problems.
Sleeve - Clear plastic.

Various sites have first US release as January 1968, so I bought this very quickly.
Brother Dave composed a few songs here and leads the singing on them.
Ray and the band moved on from their harder rock beginnings. More variety in the compositions that let Ray plunge into ballads, music hall raves & ditties, attention-getting verses. They can still rock though.
Quite a few lines here stick with you, Ray could turn a phrase while telling a story. The band still adjusts to whatever the song requires. “Waterloo Sunset” does tend to keep floating around once you hear it. What would the audience response be to you’re singing “Lazy Old Sun” at the Karaoke party?
The KINKS never disappoint.
