I buy at local auctions and estate sales here in rural NH all week and list most everything I find on Ebay. All items guaranteed to be vintage and original, no reproductions. Check my other auctions for more fun old stuff.

THIS ITEM: I think that this is a desirable LP, so I'm listing it for sale even thought the condition off. It's Vox PL 7230 Cesar Frank Symphony in D Minor by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of William Furtwangler, Recorded in Concert Performance 1945. Trail off numbers are XTV 16004 and XTV 16005 below the labels, and 1A and 2A above the labels. I think it may be a promo copy, as it is stamped on the back cover "Get Aquainted Vox Recording." I collect folk and blues, so I'm certain that anyone who's reading this knows alot more about this recording than I do. I know you classical guys are very fussy about condition, so PLEASE READ THIS PART CAREFULLY. This LP definately has condition problems. I just listened to it all the way through on my Technics turntable. The first side has pretty constant surface noise at the beginning. No loud repetitive tics, no skips or jumps, but a soft "sizzle" surface noise that quieted as it went along. The second side is rougher. There is the same surface noise and a few places where it jumped - no repetitive skips. I have not tried to clean it - a good cleaning may help, but it's not going to get rid of all the problems. The cover has pretty heavy wear around the edges, but no serious splits. I still found it pleasant to listen to, but if you're fussy about condition, this one is NOT for you. Please bear this in mind and email with any questions before you bid.
