    Released in June 1968, Jungle Marmalade is the second and final studio album by The Lemon Pipers. It serves as a fascinating bridge between the "bubblegum pop" they were forced to play by their label and the heavy psychedelic rock they actually wanted to create.

    1. Jelly Jungle (Of Orange Marmalade) – The album’s single; a quintessential sunshine-pop track that peaked at #51 on Billboard.

    4. Catch Me Falling – A 5-minute psych-rocker that begins to show the band's darker edge.

    6. Love Beads and Meditation – A track that leans heavily into the 1968 "flower power" aesthetic.

    Side B: 7. I Need Someone (The Painter) 8. Lonely Atmosphere – (Note: Some covers mistakenly list this track as "Mirrors"). 9. Wine and Violet 10. Dead End Street / Half Light – The album's 11-minute experimental centerpiece. It features heavy organ, distorted guitar, and avant-garde structure—a total departure from their "Green Tambourine" image.

    🖼️ Identification & Packaging (BDS 5016)

    • The Cover: Features a vibrant, colorful psychedelic collage. The back cover is famous among collectors for a tracklist error: it often lists "Mirrors" as track B2, whereas the label and the actual audio play "Lonely Atmosphere."

    • Labels: Original 1968 US pressings feature the multi-colored Buddah "Kaleidoscope" label.

    • Matrix Info: Look for BDS 5016 A and BDS 5016 B in the runout. Most copies were mastered at Bell Sound Studios (stamped in the dead wax).
