This record has been cleaned and played through completely both sides on a Thorens Turntable as well as visually inspected under a bright halogen desk lamp to provide an accurate grading.
LP’s are packed outside their covers to guard against ring-wear & splits during transit and then placed inside a plastic outer protective sleeve for safe delivery.

CONDITION
VINYL : terrific / some light marks (more-so on Side 2) however only surface scuffs which don’t effect play-back / no skips or pops / no lead in-out noise / plenty of shine throughout / a great clean sound / Rated EX+.LABELS : clean
SLEEVE : superb / no writing or ring-wear / no splits and the spine is intact / no creasing / some light age-wear spots however very minimal when you consider this is a white and non-laminated jacket / very impressive and most pleasing
DESCRIPTION
This outstanding and rather quirky debut from The Metronomes mixes weird and melodic electronics, topped off with a supremely disinterested but sexy spoken female vocal.Some lovely synth work here - melodic string washes, bleeps, sequences, alien noises and FX - complemented by guitars, inventive vox and basic but effective drum machines. A dark humour shines through this elegantly crafted album, especially on cuts like The Ballad of the Metronome and Sex II, while the gorgeous A Living Person and Music For Lounges just oozes composition and production class. Another great track ‘Justification’ provides a crossover between styles with its simple bass step-sequence, delicious strings, swirling high leadline and repeated spoken mantra "At least it has a steady rhythm."
A cool slice of electro heaven and as rare as rockin’ horse poo as well.

The Metronomes were founded by synth pioneers Al Webb and Andrew Picouleau sometime around 1979 in Melbourne. They incorporated a metronome as a percussive rhythm instrument into their recordings and each member recorded separate compositions. The other member was allowed to contribute to the other members song but the originating member had the right to refuse or ignore any and all suggestions or contributions. After a couple of singles Ash Wednesday was invited to join with this debut album appearing shortly after.
