VINTAGE ROCK ALBUM BY ONE OF THE EX-BEATLES!
NEAR MINT to MINT CONDITION* - STILL FACTORY SEALED
Was probably handed out as a replacement "Promo" for radio stations who wore out their first copy. *It has about 1/4 inch hole-punch in one corner of the jacket. I doubt an album like this ever ended up in a cut-out bin. And it is not a printed Promo. They may not even exist on this title(not uncommon for Capitol). Since it is factory sealed, I have to assume that the record inside is in MINT condition. Jacket/Cover is in NEAR MINT CONDITION. SS.

**Interesting thing about this cut is that it is THE song of which John Lennon lost a plagiarism lawsuit to Morris Levy, owner of the publishing rights to the Chuck Berry song "You Can't Catch Me". Lennon, probably subconsciously, used Chuck Berry's opening line and music for The Beatles hit "Come Together". The opening line is "Here come ol' flat top - - he come groovin (or cruisin'?) up slowly"......The two songs didn't have a whole lot more in common, but the judge ruled for Levy. One of the terms of the judgement or settlement was that John Lennon would actually record "You Can't Catch Me", which would make much deniro for Levy. John used it as a perfect vehicle to revisit his "Roots" and record some old songs that he and Paul and the boys used to play. It wasn't that difficult. He had only to brush up on the material, and bingo! Rock classics! The very first version of this album was actually called "ROOTS" and was on a TV label called Adam 8. It was like a K-Tel record, and was sold only on TV exclusively. But the album was quickly pulled for legal reasons, and those first copies are rare, especially sealed (of which I may be about to sell my own), and very hard to find in that condition! Finally, with a couple of songs taken out (Be My Baby and Angel Baby) and a couple of others added back in, the LP was released on Capitol and will forever be known as The Rock & Roll album.
