Jack Ashford delivered some nice mid 70's funk that at times sounds like it could have been recorded 5 years earlier. The track "Funky Disco Party" is a whole lot more funky than it is disco, and the final track of the album "Hi mom, Hi Al" is a great mellow/mid-tempo instrumental number that sounds like it belongs on a blaxploitation soundtrack Jack Ashford (born May 18, 1934), known to his friends as Jashford, is an African-American musician, widely known as the percussionist for Motown Records' in-house Funk Brothers band during the 1960s and early 1970s. Ashford is most famous for playing the tambourine on hundreds of Motown recordings. His definitive performance is on "War" by Edwin Starr; other notable songs Ashford played tambourine on include "Nowhere to Run" by Martha & the Vandellas, "You Can't Hurry Love" by The Supremes, "I Heard It Through the Grapevine" by Marvin Gaye, and "Don't Leave Me This Way" by Thelma Houston. He also played vibes, shakers, and the marimba on the label's recordings, such as The Miracles "Ooh Baby Baby". The early 1980s saw production work from Ashford but it proved to be the end of his career in music.IMPORTANT : I'm living in FRANCE , so i can't ship to US RESIDENTS for 4 USD , so please US BIDDERS winners of the auction wait THE INVOICE for the EXACT TOTAL , best regards

RECORD GRADING:
NM (Near Mint): Our highest grade. Like new, most likely unplayed.
VG++: A record that has a few visual imperfections that will not affect the sound. Likely played only a handful of times or never at all.
VG+: A few more surface marks than a VG++. The record has probably been played before but well taken care of and should play with very few audible imperfections.
VG: The record will display light surface scuffs and marks. Expect some light surface noise in parts or a few clicks or pops here and there. A VG record will play with very minimal noise and will still be quite enjoyable. We think our VG grade is conservative.
VG-: The record may have some deeper audible scatches. There will be some clicks and pops more consistently than that of a VG record but will play without skipping.
G: The record will have heavy wear and very apparent surface noise.
