Los Miticos Del Ritmo is a seven piece band put together by British musician/producer/DJ Will' Quantic' Holland. Since 2007, Will has resided in Columbia and this band is assembled from Vallento & Cumbia musicians living in the tropical depths of Santiago de Cali. The obvious highlights on the album are mad cover versions of Queen's "Another One Bites The Dust" and Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough", which rock the dancefloor; even for those not familiar with the Accordion and cumbia rhythms. It's not just about cover versions however, as the album also displays decent original tracks such as "Willy's Merengue" and "Cumbia De Mochilla". Recorded entirely on 4-track tape, Will's approach has been to produce an album with the aesthetics of 1960s tropical recordings that might have been made in Colombia and the Caribbean, and to these ears he has nailed it.
