LOADSTONE   - Loadstone  1969    USA Rock,Progressive  /Jazzy  LP
Apart from the lengthy album closer "Flower Pot" this album has nothing special to offer. "Flower Pot" is a very nice mix of psychedelia and jazz rock sound. The shorter songs are all clearly weaker and more or less mediocre. This band never made another album than this S/T record from 1969. I don't like the way the horns are used on this album. This would be better without them although the quality of the songwriting still wouldn't be very convincing.
Not a bad album but definitely not a great one either. 2,5 stars out of five is what this only album by Loadstone deserves if you ask me. I don't consider this one as a lost classic or as a forgotten gem. Pretty Good COPY
