This is an excellent Vvinyl release of Les Baxter's classic 1969 soundtrack to biker / exploitation film 'Hell's Belles'. Although primarily known for his Exotica and Easy Listening albums and soundtracks, for this release Baxter threw out his own rule book and produced a raw, groovy and funky gem. Heavy bass, dirty fuzz guitar riffs, plenty of harmonica breaks and some of Baxter's more familiar easy listening vibes make for a quality album that, although a soundtrack, works really well as a standalone album. The drum and bass breaks on 'Hot Wind' and 'Hogin' Machine' are outstanding and bring to mind vintage David Axelrod.
This is an essential purchase for any soundtrack / psych collector.
