Description
Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 61
Leonid Kogan, violinist; Constantin Silvestri, conductor of Paris Conservatoire Orchestra
1960 UK Columbia SAX 2386 Stereo/First Press
Turquoise/Silver Labels: Matrix #'s:YLX 1052-1 & YLX 1053-1---Earliest!!
LP has light marks on side 1: most, but not all, are non-sounding (13 light tics near beg, 4 more later)/Side 2 is fine.
Sleeve and jacket are NM-.
Though not (quite) perfect, nearly so; few seconds of soft tics are lost in this majestic performance.
In sum: EARLIEST (1/1 stampers) First Pressing of this EXTREMELY RARE, sought after recording.
The most recent sale on ebay was for $10,100; this LP is only 17 soft tics less valuable.
Most of the "top 10" also have slight imperfections-check Popsike.
My starting bid is below these; high, yes, but realistic; this LP is of the class of the top 3 (over $6700).
Legendary artists and performance.
Copies of similar quality sold on ebay for $150 to $200 plus
