Leon Russell released "Hank Wilson's Back Vol. 1" in September 1973 on Shelter Records. It reached No. 28 on the pop charts and is the first of four country and bluegrass albums he would record over the course of his career under his country persona of Hank Wilson. It was recorded at Bradley's Barn in Mount Juliet, Tenn. and includes special guests J.J. Cale, Carl Radle, David Briggs, Melba Montgomery, Charlie McCoy, Billy Byrd, and Harold Bradley.

This copy of (SW-8923) is from the First Pressing and is in excellent condition. The cover still has most of its original Factory Shrink Wrap attached and is in Near-Mint condition. Please see the pictures. The disc test plays cleanly and is easily VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered by Wally Traugott at Capitol Mastering in Hollywood and this copy was pressed at the Capitol Records plant in Los Angeles. The Side One dead wax is etched 1-8923-F-3.2 Wly and stamped ? MASTERED BY CAPITOL.

In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 48 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
