THE LEMON DROPS-45-"I Live In The Springtime" b/w "Listen Girl"-Rembrandt Records # 5009-ULTRA-Cool 1966 Chicago Garage / Punk GREATNESS! Most of you know this from assorted 'Cicadelic' or 'Pebbles' appearances-if not-it's real 5-star KillerKool: double guitar attack-driving 12 string rhythm guitar accompanied by an ongoing fuzz guitar-snotty/whiny Sky Saxon-ish lead vocals, killer fuzz lead guitar break...great track...KillerKool as I said...B side is more of the same, but on the folk-punk side and not the fuzz-punk attack of the A side...12 string dominated with Byrdsy overtones...great 2 sider...
Condition: Record is close to MINT-Minus; but has what appears to be a very light small-quick warp-in reality this is IN the pressing-I have seen 3 copies with EXACTLY the same thing and know other collectors who have the same thing in their copies...'Springtime' side plays great; B side you can hear a light 'swoosh' /and /or flutter (tracking at one gram on a Thorens turntable) in the intro and first few spins around the beginning of the track (maybe the first 15 to 20 seconds or so)...some light background noise also due to the pressing, not the condition, not really noticeable on 'Springtime' side; B side is quieter...Lovely copy really-and as I mentioned-ALL pressings of this have this same little ‘warp’ in the master pressing-All the copies I know of are like this.
