LEE MORGAN
- THE SIDEWINDER -

BLUE NOTE BLP 4157
ORIGINAL MONO W / EAR  / 12" LP

LP is in Near Mint condition.
The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without scuffs,or scratches of any kind. This lp appears unplayed!
The fidelity is superb, with no distortion, pops, clicks,or background noise of any kind.

Jacket is in Near Mint condition. Original heavy and glossy jacket is in very nice condition. There are virtually no marks, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind. This lp is stored in the original factory inner sleeve. In the many decades since the Swing era ended, very few jazz recordings have become hits. But in late 1963, Lee Morgan's "The Sidewinder" was so popular and catchy that it was used on a car commercial and started many other artists recording similar danceable boogaloos. Morgan had not set out to record a hit; "The Sidewinder" was just an original of his that he liked to stretch out on. With Joe Henderson and Barry Harris in a quintet, Morgan (one of the great trumpeters of the 1950s and '60s) performs not only the lengthy title cut but four other originals including ""Gary's Notebook" and "Hocus Pocus." A classic release.
