Reasonable example of the rare Plum/Red label first Atlantic pressing. This is 'variant 8' of eight different versions of the label. Cover well worn and record well played although in very good condition and plays well. Fragile inner present and in acceptably good condition.

Condition Vinyl - well played with a few light marking and light scuffs - however still a reasonable shine and no significant marks except one moderate scratch end B2 start B3 which only sounds a little on star of B3. Plays extremely well with no skips or jumps and some light crackling. 
Sleeve G well used and edges rubbed. Quite dirty with part of a mug ring on reverse. Spine has some flaky areas, some losses and 2" split at top. Rear sleeve has split all along top seam. 
Inner Sleeve - Good - the very fragile inner sleeve is present. Split down both sides but bottom solid. Small tear & loss at top centre. No marks or stains. Please see all images which include part of the condition description and contact me if you have any queries or doubts.

Of 8 known 'plum' label variants, this is the 8th. Specific to this label variant are:  1. 'Marketed by Polydor Records Limited' at 6 o'clock on labels.  2. 'Under license from Atlantic Recording Corp.' in white area under ATLANTIC on left side.  3. LED ZEPPELIN is printed above spindle hole  4. Catalogue number at 3 o'clock above circular Atlantic logo reads 'deluxe 2401012'  5. There is no Peter Grant credit, and song publishing credits are: Kinney Music Ltd./Superhype Music Inc.  6. Track B1 is credited on B-side label as "Misty Mountain Hop" Sleeve is a gatefold, thick card with sealed left side edge when opened up to reveal 'The Hermit' drawing. 
Disc is housed in a grey card liner with credits on one side and the lyrics to 'Stairway to Heaven' on the other.  Outer glue-tabs on the left and right sides of liner.
Importantly, although Jimmy Page had got all the 'Executive Producer Peter Grant' credits removed from the labels by this time, the liner still retains this credit, bottom left side. 
This release was commonly referred to as 'Led Zeppelin IV', to follow in sequence with their previous three releases, but no actual title appears on the release. (Note# No tracktimings appear on the labels or sleeve)

M Mint Must be in perfect condition with no audible or visible defects whatsoever. The record and cover/sleeve should be exactly as brand new. NM Near Mint Almost mint but has one or two minor visible marks on the cover/sleeve or surface with sound quality remaining perfect. EX Excellent Not quite perfect. There may a slight chance of minor deterioration in sound quality. The cover/sleeve may show slight wear. VG Very Good The surface and cover/sleeve shows visible signs of wear due to the fact that it has been played on a regular basis. There will be some audible surface noise but it will not effect the listening experience. G Good The sound quality has deteriorated due to having been played often. The cover/sleeve and surface will show considerable signs of wear and tear with some possible damage.  F Fair Has been neglected, but is still playable. There will be major audible defects such as loud clicks or jumping. The cover/sleeve maybe badly damaged. P Poor Technically playable, but with serious deterioration in condition and sound quality. The cover/sleeve will be badly damaged. VP Very Poor In terrible condition and absolutely unplayable. Would only be of use as a last resort to complete a collection.
