Description
Here is a very rare Led Zeppelin collectible--the promo only 7" UK pressing of Stairway To Heaven/Whole Lotta Love, issued as a limited edition of 150 promo only pressing by UK Atlantic Records in 1990. This has been heavily bootlegged, but this is the original pressing in beautiful unplayed mint condition, with the original xeroxed memo that accompanied it originally.
AS you can see from the memo, as of 1990 the band resisted the record company's considerable pressure to release this commercially--but their UK label pressed up 150 promo copies "in anticipation of them consenting to the release." Since the label couldn't send them out, they circulated them to employees. The memo accurately predicts that "in the future these could quite possibly be a bit of a "collector's item."
