Description
This is Led Zeppelin's III vinyl album on red/maroon labels in gate-fold cover. This particular issue I have for auction has the 1st press matrix no's A5/B5. The vinyl is pressed with 2nd generation red/plum labels with hyphened cat no. '240-002' at 2 O'clock. Track A3 on label is the sort-after typo "Celebration" instead of 'Celebration Day' as noted on cover. Another interesting feature to this particular label is the white band across the middle of side 1 is not parallel - measuring 11.5mm wide to the right, and 13.5mm to the left. Also there is a bold credit "Produced by Jimmy Page" central in lower portion of label featured below 'Warner Bros. Music' credit. There is no label credit for Executive Producer Peter Grant. The cover is in good condition showing some wear to opening and minimal spine damage. The spinning wheel rotates freely, and the vinyl sounds impressive to say the least with minimal crackling. However, sadly, for the purists, a scratch at the intro to 'Immigrant Song' (see picture), means you'd have to manually place your arm, which is not ideal. After that it is very good.
