Description
A great opportunity to buy a copy of a RARE Led Zeppelin VINYL LP from the 1970's.
This is a U.K. FIRST pressing released in 1970 on the Atlantic label (2401002).
This is "Led Zeppelin III" on the red / maroon label with "Produced by Jimmy Page" and "Executive Producer Peter Grant" credits at the top of the labels, with the catalogue number printed as 2401002 (see photos).
The matrix and stamp numbers in the dead wax are:- 2401002 A-5 1 2 8 (side one) and 2401002 B-5 1 5 4 (side two).
There are also the inscriptions:- "Do What Thou Wilt" (side one) and "So Mots It Be" (side two) in the dead wax.
The vinyl is in a clean and shiny EXCELLENT condition. I always examine and grade records under a bright table lamp and there are just a few light surface marks noticeable, but nothing serious. They do not affect the sound quality and I have played both sides and they play fine and sound great.
The labels are clean and free from any stickers, writing or major defects. A few light spindle marks are evident when tilted towards the light. The record is housed within its original poly-lined inner sleeve (printing date 0970) in a Very Good condition, with some creasing evident.
The laminated gatefold cover is in an EXCELLENT condition. It has the rotating wheel, which is fully operational and is nice and clean on the back and front and inside the gatefold. The edges are very strong and the text on the spine is clearly readable (see photos). There is just a minor crease in the top corner near the opening edge, otherwise it is a superb example of this classic cover.
This is a very collectable Led Zeppelin LP and should be of interest to avid collectors.
