Up for auction here is the rare "transitional" pressing of Led Zeppelin's LP better know as IV.
What makes this pressing of interest is the labels. This transitional pressing has already been documented with the two matrix numbers and misprint on the label but this one varies slightly and I can't find another one like it.
It has the Atlantic Green/Orange labels with all the info except logo beneath the centre hole.
No Symbols,
Kinney/Superhype publishing credit.
No Peter Grant credit.
Now here's where the variant comes in. Usually these transitional LP's also have the label misprint - "Misty Mountain TOP" but this one doesn't?
Also, the small "v" beneath "Made in UK" is missing?
There may be other people that have seen this variant before but I have never and nor could I find another like it while searching the internet. Discogs has the transitional pressing but with the spelling misprint on the label with the small "V" but not this variant. Also, the Bside has just "Pecko" and not "Pecko Duck" like other transitional pressings.
Transitional matrix numbers 2401012 'A3/B4' & K50008 A/B.
Porky and Pecko etched into the run-off groove.
Green & orange labels with no Warner Brothers logo.
Crossed out and altered matrix number on side 1.
Indented rather than flat labels.
Grey lyric inner sleeve with inner flaps & K50008 in top right corner.

Vinyl - NM/M-
The vinyl sits perfectly flat and has a deep and rich gloss both sides. The vinyl is flawless, absolutely pristine, not a single blemish anywhere. You don't often see vinyls so pristine like this but this one really is a stone cold M-
Sleeve - NM
The gatefold sleeve is also in pristine condition. Non-laminated sleeve has no rips or seam splits. Straight spine with no crushing or splitting. Straight edges. Looks like it just walked out the factory. Gatefold opens and closes smoothly and inside looks like new. Comes with original flip sided inner sleeve with small split at bottom.
Labels - NM
No signs of use on the labels at all. Possibly unplayed!
