Description

A full set of UK 1st pressing 1979 In Through The Out Door A - F, 6 Covers, 6 Albums, 6 inner sleeves & even the original 6 brown paper 'disguise' bags.

Was this record set fun or frustrating when it was released!? The disguise bag covered the album sleeve so that you was never sure which of the six album variations you had bought untill it was too late!! I personally found it frustrating, spending a fortune on albums to make sure I had them all. Well, I can save you the trouble and auction my 6 all together!!

Please bear in mind this set is 30 years old. I am not always comfortable using the description 'mint'. Can a 30 year old vinyl album really be mint if it has been opened and played even once? I dont think so, no matter what a professional says, it can only be mint if unopened and never played.

The brown bags, all six are pretty much in the same condition. No splits, no tears, no graffiti, no folds or creases, corners intact and the serrated top edge is just as it should be, a clean serration with no damage. Mint? well, they are only brown paper bags, maybe practically mint!

The album covers, all 6 same again, no stickers, graffiti, rips, tears, no creases & no spine damage. The open edges are clean crisp card on all 6 albums. practically mint.

Inner sleeves. First of all they are all original black and white inners with very slight discolouration due to them being white card and 30 years old. Other than that, no stickers, graffiti, rips, tears, no creases. Corners and open ends are crisp and true. Practically mint.

Vinyl, all 6, same again! All true and flat, all clean, no graffiti. I have played both sides of all 6 albums, once!  Awesome depth of sound from this 1st pressing. Sturdy vinyl. Minimal background noise even on the dead wax. No pops skips and jumps. No spindle wear to show, and only the faintest of hairline paper marks which show how these albums have rarely been handled in 30 years. All 6 records have a good deep natural shine and gloss to them. Again, practically mint. Matrix numbers for those who want them - SSK 59410-A5 / B5, all with the all important 'STRAWBERRY' on the dead wax, designating the 1st press.

I have only ever seen one other set like this one, and I am keeping it thanks!!

A VERY SERIOUS COLLECTORS SET OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY.

I am not a professional record collector but over the years have accumulated some fantastic vinyl. My records are cared for and only ever played on my Pro-Ject 2xperience deck with an Ortofon Rondo stylus through a Bi-Amped Bi-Wired Arcam stereo. I have decided to sell some of my First pressing A1 records which will include Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix so watch this space for some RARE vinyl. My Led Zeppelin collection is extensive including the Turquoise First Album in collectable condition coming soon!! Enquiries are welcome.

All of my collectable records have a reserve on them, sorry, but I will not take the chance of 'merely' giving them away. They have a minimum value to me and would also to any serious buyers.

Happy bidding and good luck.
