Sleeve

Printed by the EJ Day group.  Fantastic looking sleeve . No feathering on opening edges. Un -laminated gatefold .  Light brown outer sleeve showing a true original press. The Killing Floor version of this magnificent album has a pale/mid brown coloration and closely match the original Lemon Song sleeve as some very early covers were still being used. Beware as dark brown sleeves can be swapped as the later pressings are far more common and are in far better condition generally. An excellent light brown sleeve is very difficult to find as they were never laminated and were very prone to edgewear, rubbing and tearing. The majority  are found to be very shabby and heavily worn!Darker covers can be offered as the originals , so beware! This sleeve is in great shape,spine solid and square. Top edge particularly and corners showing the slightest of wear. Inside inner has 2cms blemish on top right corner-only real problem here. Fantastic spine presented very solid and square with only a minmal of wear showing. This spine is superb and has not been dented or crushed as the majority are found to be.Opens crisp and sharp and displays a beautiful fluorescent gold and green zeppelin airship ,covering half of both inner faces. No unwanted writing and no creasing. Colours are unfaded and the old fashioned photo of the band on front cover looks very authentic in pale lemon and brown tint. Superb copy on offer here. It is generally accepted that these classic album sleeves for this particular pressing is the hardest one to find with little wear.Bearing this in mind, this album sleeve will give the collector much pleasure as the excellence of this sleeve is very obvious, with the slightest of wear apparent!

Labels

Red/plum with a pure unfaded white stripe through middle. MINT!!I have never seen labels like these. It’s as if the record has never been played!! Collectors worldwide-MEGA ALERT!! This is the heart of the vinyl and gives the professional a fair and accurate picture of the vinyl’s history. Has anyone seen labels unmarked after 35 years? This places this record into the mega rare category! Labels look brand NEW and show that the vinyl has been very carefully looked after. No hairlines visible and no spindle wear. They have the Warner Bros credits and are a collector’s dream!

Vinyl

Early thick heavyweight vinyl. Jet black with a mirror like sheen.The vinyl has hardly been played and shows ONE or TWO very light surface marks (non audible) and only visible when tilted forty five degrees and under very strong light. Have never seen a record in such a wonderful condition. Might as well have been pressed only yesterday. There is no scuffs or hairlines that I can detect. An almost perfect visual appearance,and will be hard pressed to find better.Can still see the delicate flash residue in centre hole which confirms a very lightly played record!!!How rare is this on a huge Zeppelin release?

Audio

Perfect. Silent grooves between tracks. The channels are crystal clear. The tones are beautiful, crisp and sharp and yet delivering a warm mellow punch that makes this audio like no other. No groove wear to report and looks like vinyl has only been played two or three times at the most. A true rock classic with some outstanding tracks including the infamous Whole Lotta Love and when the intro hits this track,you know you are hearing the greatest rock music in the world which will never be matched. Beautiful near mint aural delivery with no crackles, no distortion, no hisses, no pops, just absolutely perfect! Awesome copy.

Summary

Grading -I would give MINT minus but a very strong one! Looks virtually brand new with mint labels which must be mega rare on a Led Zeppelin LP!!A very scarce album with the rare Lemon song miscredit ,which had to be changed for legal reasons .With an exceptional RARE ORIGINAL album sleeve ,thick chunky vinyl with near perfect surfaces and MINT red/plum labels, this record displays all the hallmarks of a very early  pressing of an exceptional  classic album. Please do not miss out on this one , ladies/gentlemen as you will never find another in such a stunning condition.
