LED ZEPPELIN III TYPE SINGLE LP-STEREO LABEL/PRESSING INFO ATLANTIC PLUM VERY 1ST PRESS with the- Produced by Jimmy Page:Executive Producer Peter Grant label text above the centre line and catalogue number as one number instead of 2401 002 and standard run of text "SO MOTE IT BE" & "DO WHAT THOU WILT" CATALOGUE NUMBER 2401002 YEAR OF RELEASE 1970 COUNTRY OF RELEASE U.K. SLEEVE TYPE GATEFOLD-E.J. DAY FULLY LAMINATED WITH "WHIRLY" WHEEL INSERTS/EXTRAS NONE This is without doubt one of the oddest copies of this album you are ever likely to see, because it was made out of the reject bin by a Polydor staff member predates the official release and basically it should never have seen the light of day.First off the A label has been pressed off centre as shown by the picture above ,secondly there is a small pice of the card missing from the front board top upper right, and its not whole corner just the top layer of the card where it has come the end of the sheet and missed the stamping process. Both of these things happened regularly and they were supposed to be binned, which a lot where, then they would end up being resurrected by staff and these weird hybrids sprung up,and occasionally turn up out of the blue, except this one didnt exactly as it was my next door neighbour who made it and I remember him bringing around to our house weeks before it was released, and I got my mits on it years and years ago,so in essence the this is the earliest press of all,and remember its not as if I dont bring these things out occasionally I listed an ultra rare Electric Ladyland pre release copy a few months ago which came from the same source. GRADING/CONDITION DISC(s) EXCELLENT ( CLEAN copy with just LIGHT playwear and some surface marks which are light both in quantity and content and the whole album plays well with no real loss of quality apart from the very occasional bit of background intereference) LABELS

EXCELLENT ( CLEAN has faint name on either side and a bit of light spindlewear on side one due to the hole in the label not being a hole at all)

On their first two albums, Led Zeppelin unleashed a relentless barrage of heavy blues and rockabilly riffs, but Led Zeppelin III provided the band with the necessary room to grow musically. While there are still a handful of metallic rockers, III is built on a folky, acoustic foundation that gives the music extra depth. And even the rockers aren't as straightforward as before: the galloping "Immigrant Song" is powered by Robert Plant's banshee wail, "Celebration Day" turns blues-rock inside out with a warped slide guitar riff, and "Out on the Tiles" lumbers along with a tricky, multi-part riff. Nevertheless, the heart of the album lies on the second side, when the band delve deeply into English folk. "Gallows Pole" updates a traditional tune with a menacing flair, and "Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" is an infectious acoustic romp, while "That's the Way" and "Tangerine" are shimmering songs with graceful country flourishes. The band hasn't left the blues behind, but the twisted bottleneck blues of "Hats off to (Roy) Harper" actually outstrips the epic "Since I've Been Loving You," which is the only time Zeppelin sound a bit set in their ways.
