This is superb original early A5-B6 UK PLUM/RED issue in brilliant clean playing condition. The thick chunky vinyl is in amazingly clean NEAR MINT condition and the fully laminated early E.J.Day gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition. The plum/red atlantic labels are the earliest with a different text layout to later issues. This brilliant original UK Led Zeppelin album has been barely played at all in 37 years and it would be very difficult to find another original UK copy that looks, plays and sounds as good as this copy on offer here. It has also just recently had a professional deep clean and then placed inside a brand new poly-lined inner sleeve so it really is in brilliant clean playing condition.

Both sides of the thick chunky vinyl look amazingly clean with a brilliant original deep sheen that is free of any surface marks apart from just two very small light wispy scuffs on side 1, these are so small and light that they obviously have no effect on play at all, at first glance the vinyl really does look brand new, both sides look/play and sound absolutely superb from beginning to end, the album plays free of annoying surface noise and and the sound quality is brilliantly clear throughout, the entire album plays and sounds top excellent but Jimmy's lead guitar on the superb very long blues-rock track 'Since I've Been Loving You' sounds simply amazingly crisp and razor sharp with almost a CD quality to it, this is just a top condition early UK copy that has been barely played at all and will not disappoint in any way. As already mentioned, the vinyl has recently had a professional deep clean on a Moth Mk.II machine, before the clean the album played with some minor occasional hiss/crackle but now it simply plays and sounds stunning throughout.

Both plum/red Atlantic labels have the earliest text layout with the Jimmy Page producer credit on the top half of the label above Peter Grant's name, later issues have Jimmy's name at the bottom of the labels in very small text, also on these earliest labels there is no dash between the album codes as they read '2401002' later issues had the dash between 2401 & 002 (2401-002). Another big difference is that there is noticeable space between the track-titles, later labels had the track-listing text much closer together. Lastly the track 'Celebration Day' is printed correctly as some later plum/red labels credited the track as just 'Celebration'.

The fully laminated gatefold sleeve is the far more desirable earliest UK E.J.Day issue with the album track listing on the inside right gatefold, many slightly later uk plum/red issues came in a inferior much thinner German made gatefold sleeve with the track listing switched to the inside right gatefold. This original E.J.Day gatefold on offer here is in really excellent condition, most of these original thickly laminated Led Zep 3 covers suffer from unsightly age yellowing around the edges and nasty looking lamination creases and lines but this cover is superb with just some light wear and just one slightly darker discoloured half-circle shaped patch on the back/top/left, apart from this it's in superb clean condition. The very colourful rotating wheel is still very firmly fixed and works perfect, the original poly-lined inner sleeve is in very clean defect free condition with just a few minor age spots. The album will be sent in a brand new poly-lined inner sleeve which was supplied with the cleaning service, the albums original poly-lined inner sleeve will of course also be included.

It really would be very difficult to find a better looking playing and sounding original UK copy that this one on offer here and the winning bidder will definitely not be disappointed with this mint palying copy of Led Zeppelin's essential third album.

I really do pack my records very well indeed, the album will be removed from the gatefold cover to avoid seem/edge splits in transit, plenty of rigid cardboard support will be used to avoid corners bending, this album will reach you in the same condition as advertised.
