Description
Led Zeppelin II 1969 Original RL Hot Mix LP. The most wanted Zeppelin LP by collectors, aside from the UK turquoise lettered 69' debut. I have decided to let go of my own personal copy of this LP. The copy I own is a promotional stickered wide run-out RL/SS master. (you may need a magnifying glass to view the 'SS',but I assure you it's there-on both sides..)This record has been played only a handful of times over the years and stored upright in no less than 3 protective sleeves. My theory on this copy is this..Once Atlantic records learned that the original 'hot mix' version of this LP was being returned in droves due to buyers with sub par turntables thinking it must be defective, Atlantic had Robert Ludwig create a second, somewhat 'tamer' master (This is a fact). Because this copy does not have the narrow run-offs common to the early RL's, but retains the 'RL/SS' on both sides, I believe this to be one of the early 'Corrected' versions to be made available to radio and press people (hence the promotional sticker). The cover is in outstanding condition w/ sharp corners and no splits. Only a tiny triangular piece of the back cover (bottom left) looks odd (last pic),but is fully intact. Crisp, clean original Atlantic company inner sleeve is present. The vinyl is in Excellent condition with only super light paper sleeve scuffs visible only under only the most critical lighting. So light, you would not see them if I did not mention them. Record looks amazing under normal light. VG++ throughout. The record sounds amazing as you might imagine..This is not a novice collector copy-It is a high end audiophile grade LP for serious collectors. You will never, ever need to upgrade it again. Reluctantly parting with it for personal reasons. My loss is your gain. Play grading before listing revealed only 4-5 very light clicks at start of the psychedelic bridge of 'Whole Lotta love'' & THAT'S IT! Passed the 'Thank You'/'Ramble On' dynamics tests with flying colors-Plays smooth and clean as butter w/ virtually no extraneous noise. Expensive yes,but worth every penny if you are seeking or are in the market for a high end copy of an Original 1969 'RL' Zeppelin II as nice as this one is. Thanks for your interest and I will answer any questions you may have to the best of my ability, honestly and accurately as possible.
