Description

LED ZEPPELIN II RL Hot Mix ROBERT LUDWIG Atlantic SD 8236 1st U.S. pressing from 1969.
Infamous Hot Mix mastered by Robert Ludwig and featuring a loud and punchy mix that was soon withdrawn for a much tamer version. "RL" initials etched on BOTH sides of vinyl (see photos).
Specialty Records Corporation pressing as indicated by the "SP" on the labels. This was a pressing plant in Olyphant Pennsylvania.
Played all the way through to determine condition, no skips on my system.

VINYL in VG+ condition with some light surface scuffs and hairlines that produce the occasional pop but very little crackle. I noticed some pops in quieter segments but overall extremely strong sound. These RL editions are often plagued with scratches and crackle, this is an extreme rarity!! The end of "Thank You" has a lot of quiet segments at the fade out in the end, but with this copy it is still quiet and the surface noise minimal. 
COVER in VG+ condition with writing in pen on inside gatefold (see photos), staining/yellowing to white areas, spine has rubbing on edges, top and bottom seams have some chipping starting and light rubbing. Corner bumps and there is a bit of paper sticking out of the outer gatefold on upper right hand corner, appears to be manufacturing error? There is a 2" split in inner gatefold seam (see photos). All seams and spine are fully intact! 
INNER SLEEVE in VG with splits in middle of seams, yellowing, corner bumps.
LP will be shipped in proper mailer with record removed to prevent splitting.

Some copies came with one or two hype stickers: one mentioning Whole Lotta Love and the other with a tracklisting.

Additionally, some copies of this Specialty RL press came in jackets with a "Gold Record Award" sticker affixed directly to the jacket.
