Description
Up for auction is an original pressing of Led Zeppelin II, SD 8236. This is the legendary pressing mastered by Robert Ludwig (R.L.) at Sterling Sound Studios (SS). It features the R.L. and SS on both sides. The Info in the dead wax, (side one) ST-A-691671-MO- CC (MR stamp) LW (Delta/Triangle) 13933 (3 in a circle) W AT RL SS. (side two) W AT ST-A-691672-MO- CC (MR stamp) LW RL SS (Delta/Triangle) 13933-X (2). The info at the bottom of the record labels are (side one) is (ST-A-691671-MO), (side two) is (ST-A-691672-MO) The MO at the end of the code indicates it was pressed at the Monarch record plant in Los Angeles . The MO pressings have a slightly narrower dead wax on side two but not as narrow as the PR pressings. The MO pressing is in some peoples opinion slightly louder/better sounding than other R.L. pressings pressed at the other pressing plants. This is a really nice copy. The record itself is in VG+ condition. It has a few superficial marks/paper scuffs that do not affect the sound. It plays like Excellent maybe just a hair bit of surface noise. I played this copy several times and it absolutely rocked. Side one has a tiny bit of writing on the label and side two has a bit of spindle wear on label (see pics). The cover is really nice especially for a Zepp II cover. Its VG+ or better. (See Pics) Its got some shelf wear and some smudges as these covers usually do but it is very solid. The seams are crisp showing just a little wear. The opening of the cover is very crisp showing little wear. The spine shows wear and some smudging also but is very solid no splits. Has some corner/edge wear on spine. The original Atlantic inner paper sleeve is included. Its in great shape a tiny hole and maybe a wrinkle or two.
Record will be shipped outside of the cover in a new plastic inner sleeve. Then cover and record will be placed in a plastic outer sleeve and mailed in a record mailer with cardboard pads/inserts to further protect the record. Record mailer is high quality. consists of 200lb test cardboard with a 32lb edge crush rating. I have been collecting records for years and totally understand how to safely ship records. THanks for checking out my Auction. Sorry But No International Shipping. Orders in the U.S.A. only :) Shipping is $4.00 media mail with delivery confirmation.
