Led Zeppelin’s first magnificent album, catalogue No. 588171 on the Atlantic Red/Plum label. A FANTASTIC example of this original 1969 UK PRESSING. The matrix numbers are A1 and B4. As with all these Zeppelin early UK pressings, the power they got into those grooves is astonishing ! This recording has a tremendous power and presence that surges out of the speakers and hits you like the Hammer Of The Gods !! Play it at number 11 and hear why its one of the best albums ever made by any band anywhere !! Amazing !! The heavyweight vinyl is in pristine condition with a mirror like sheen and only slight hairlines visible under strong light. It plays beautifully, the sonic assault of ‘Communication Breakdown’ with Page’s scorching solo !! The sheer awesome power of ‘Dazed And Confused’ and the acoustic ‘Black Mountain Side’ really are something special when you hear them with this kind of clarity !! And not forgetting the sometimes overlooked 8 minute epic ‘How Many More Times’, they all come pounding out at you !! The only clicks are in ‘Babe I’m Gonna Leave You’ and 'I Can't Quit You' but these are light and not repetitive. There is some light surface crackle on run ins and in some (but not all) of the quietest parts but it is very light and not distracting. There is absolutely NO DISTORTION from groove wear and it sounds FANTASTIC ! It really is as good as I’ve ever heard this album sound ! The vinyl grades as EXCELLENT. The Sleeve is in EXCELLENT- condition, with only light creases and laminate lifting around the spine, but no splits or tears or graffiti. There is some slight price sticker residue in the top right coner but it is hardly noticable. It displays barely any wear at all on the edges and spine, having been kept in a plastic sleeve all it's life. The labels are as vivid as the day they were printed. All in all, A SUPERLATIVE sounding AND looking example of this seminal album !!
