LED ZEPPELIN

“LED ZEPPELIN VOL. I”

(“Led Zeppelin” or “First”)

RARE original ATLANTIC Records STEREO press released in Chile in 1977 by ASFONA (ASFONA Records), with red Atlantic labels, catalog number SD-8216, with matrix numbers in Side 1: SD-8216-A MSM-CD 6-7-77, and  SD-8216-B MSM-CD 7-7-77 in Side 2. Yes Sirs, ANOTHER FIND!!!

“LED ZEPPELIN VOL. I” was originally released in 1969 with the title “LED ZEPPELIN”, but we had to wait until 1970 to see this great album released here!!! The very first press released in Chile had the incredible error in labels with the name of the band misspelled “LED SEPPELIN” and with MONO sound!!! Only 300 copies of that record were pressed before to correct the name and the sound to STEREO (I also have that album here in eBay). However, this is a pressing of 1977, with ATLANTIC labels but released in Chile by ASFONA Records (the first pressing released in Chile had Atlantic labels but released by Philip Records) and with the title “LED ZEPPELIN VOL.I”!!! This release has the date of pressing in the deadwax, July 6 of 1977 in Side 1 and July 7 of 1977 in Side 2!!! (This is the only album with date in the deadwax that I've seen with a different date for each side!!!). And this release has a flipcover with the front cover pasted on the flips. Front cover keeps the same original artwork, with “Led Zeppelin” in orange and the ASFONA Records logo in the upper right corner. Back cover also has the same artwork of front cover with “Led Zeppelin” in black and the Atlantic Records logo in the upper right corner with the catalog number immediately below. At the top in the middle is written “Serie Especial De Lujo” (Deluxe Special Serie). In back cover is tracklist in English but translated to Spanish with credits only for the songs of the Side 1 and no time of the songs. Curiously, in back covers the Sides are 1 and 2 but in labels they are A and B. In labels the tracklist is also in English and translated to Spanish but all songs have their credits.

Yes, yes, yes… Here it’s a REAL FIND, another rare pressing of a famous album released in Chile!!!

The cover is UNIQUE, same artwork for front and back cover and it’s in VG- or VG condition, clean, no missing parts, no rips, no ring marks, only age browning and a faint blemish for humidity in front cover and the name "Susy" written in back cover. My grading is mostly given because all 4 sides have tape even though the tape isn’t there to repair, the cover is complete, people used to put that tape to avoid damages, so common in these so thin covers. The record is in VG- or VG condition, glossy and clean but with loads of light hairlines and not so few light scratches. Labels on both sides are in NM or NM+ condition, absolutely clean and clear. The sound, however, is a nice surprise, it’s in EX- or EX condition the Side 1, loud, clear and clean, no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), and VG+ or EX- the Side 2, with some light crackles and clicks here and there. Overall a great record with a not so good look but with a sound quality still nice after more than 30 years, no background sound, no skips, no sticks. This is a very nice copy of this rare pressing!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ
