LED ZEPPELIN.- 4 or Untitled. UK 1st PRESS 1971 Atlantic RED/PLUM LABELS. Rare Labels as they have over labeling! (check photo's)

This version has factory stickers on the labels, I've not seen one like this before! with a small one on the top of the label, with the band name LED ZEPPELIN. The bottom PURPLE part has an over sticker with KINNEY MUSIC, then SUPER HYPE MUSIC underneath, then under that PODUCED by JIMMY PAGE. Added to that PECKO DUCK Side1, and PORKY Side2, scatched into the runout. This Album is hard enough to find a Red/Plum Original, This is the very 1st Press and plays without any jumps, sound distortion, it crackles a little with a few pops But no Loud clicks!!! Visualy at has some surface scatches and thumb nails, but none overly affect, the overall sound Quality. Remember This is a LED ZEPPELIN Album thats 40 years old.

I've played the album, It sounds wonderful! it crackles a little, played on my Pioneer PL 550-x It runs flat on both sides, very rare to find this album in this condition, as it's proberbly the most famous rock album of all time.

Vinyl.- Vg, several small thumbnails and light scatches on both sides, which dosn't affect play.

Cover.- Vg no writting, tires, slight selfware.

labels.- Clean no writting or tires.

Inner sleeve.- Good no creases or writting, but the record has split the bottom edge.

Matrix.- side 1. PECKO DUCK 2401012 two scratched out numbers then A//3 1 1.

As a fan, just a few facts, Firstly if Carlsburg made records This would be it. Yes arguably this is the greatest rock album of all time. Selling 23,000,000 US alone. Voted the #1 Rock album of all time by Classic Rock in 2006. After the bad press reviews for Led Zeppelin III. Jimmy Page & co decided to untitle their next Lp. Sometimes called the 4 symbols, reference to the 4 symbols on the labels and inner sleeve. Each band member had a design, there was even a fifth symbol given to Sandy Denny as 3 triangles joined at there tips. Sandy sings on the Battle of Evermore, this song and Misty Mountain Hop, have references to J R R Tolkien's, Lord of the Rings. The untitled cover is a painting bought by Robert Plant, that was nailed up on a derelict house wall overlooking Butterfield Court Flats in Eves Hill, Dudley.

Recording started in Dec 70, at Island Records Basing Street Studios. Upon the suggestion of Fleetwood Mac they moved to Headley Grange a remote Victorian House in East Hampshire, using the Rolling Stones Mobile Recording Studio. They took the masters to LA for mixing then finished in London this held up its final release. The result One of the Biggest Selling Albums of all time. The Lp also featured Ian Stewart ( Faces ) on the Piano on Rock N' Roll. No credit proberly contractual. It finally got released 8th Nov 71 went #1 UK and #2 US.
