·       LED ZEPPELIN – LED ZEPPELIN III – ORIGINAL 1970 ATLANTIC RECORDS STEREO LP SD-7201

*** WHITE LABEL PROMO ***

·       ORIGINAL `MOVING PARTS` COVER

·       ORIGINAL U.S. PRESSING

·       THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC, FIRST U.S. PRESSING; THIS IS NOT A REISSUE, AN IMPORT, OR A COUNTERFEIT PRESSING.

·       THE RECORD HAS `MASTERCRAFT` HAND-ETCHED IN THE TRAIL-OFF VINYL (DEAD WAX) AREA (ALONG WITH JIMMY PAGE’S CRYPO-ETHICAL/RELIGIOUS MUSINGS: "DO WHAT THOU WILT…" (SIDE 1) AND "SO MOTE BE IT" (SIDE 2); THESE STAMPS ARE GENERALLY CONSIDERED A PROOF OF AUTHENTICITY OF THE FIRST GENERATION OF PRESSINGS OF THIS ALBUM.

·       BEAUTIFUL, WEAR-FREE LABELS

This album comes from a personal collection of a high-ranking Warner / Elektra / Atlantic executive who lovingly collected each and every complementary copy he`d received from the label (whether stock, test or, in this case, promo pressing). The album is in a truly AMAZING state of preservation – we doubt that the record was played more than 2-3 times in its entire 35-year history (and this includes our single playing to determine the condition). Please visit our other featured auctions for other incredible items from this same collection, such as the test pressings of Led Zeppelin II (Second Album) and The Doors` second album (Strange Days), both in immaculate condition.

THE WHITE LABEL PROMO, RADIO STATION-, AUDITION OR DEMONSTRATION COPIES AND RELEASES (such as the one we have here) were often distributed to the radio stations before the record was released to the public, sometimes as much as four months ahead. These records are generally considered to be the "first among equals": the VERY FIRST generation and the VERY FIRST pressings of the particular title; a PROTOTYPE and the earliest known official pressing of the record.

·       CONDITION:

·       RECORD

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)            WE GRADE THE VINYL AS STRONG NEAR MINT. The original luster is very much intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles almost like new.

(b)            The record comes in the original stock inner sleeve.

(c)             The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

(e)             White Promo Label version of this title is much rarer that a regular, commercially released, version of this title. We estimate that stock copies of this album outnumber promo copies by a ratio of at least 500:1 (NO, WE ARE NOT EXAGGERATING).

(f)              Stock (commercially released) mono copies of this album are NOT known to exist.

·       COVER (THIS IS THE ORIGINAL, MOVING PARTS COVER)

COVER IS STONE MINT, STILL IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP, AND NOTHING SHORT OF ABSOLUTE PERFECTION, WITHOUT EVEN A HINT OF A FLAW OR DEFECT; A KIND OF BEAUTY YOU ONLY GET TO SEE ONCE IN A LIFETIME.
