Description
This is the original UK LP by LED ZEPPELIN, Self-Titled 1st UK LP, the MEGA RARE 1st Pressing with the TURQUOISE cover lettering and with the "Superhype" publishing credits, released in March 1969 on the red and maroon ATLANTIC label 588 171.
The MEGA RARE original UK fully laminated 1969 1st issue cover, with TURQUOISE lettering is in EX condition, lovely and clean, front and back, their is no unwanted writing, and no seam splits, the spine is fully intact and perfectly readable, minimal wear, with only a little lamination creasing and bubbling on the front, which is not visually intrusive, GREAT condition, MEGA RARE COVER!.
The vinyl is very hard to grade, and at first glances appears to be in stunning condition, as the vinyl maintains all it's original shine and lustre. Side 2 plays superbly, with only a little light crackle here and there. Side 1 has some deep marks in a few places, "Good Times Bad Times" their is 6 clicks and 1 small jump, "Babe I'm Gonna Leave you" plays superbly with only a little light crackle at the start, "You Shook Me" doesn't play at all well, with some scuff/ clicking noises, and jumps 6 times, the best track on the LP (in my opinion) "Dazed and Confused" plays superbly!!!, no problems. Having said all that, the quality of this 1st pressing is BREATHTAKING!, the vinyl, (both sides) plays with superb crisp clarity!, their is no sound distortion at all, playing with superb depth and warmth!, particularly, on "Dazed and Confused" John Bonhams drums come CRASHING and THUMPING through the speakers, litterally JUMPING OUT AT YOU!, the quality is THAT GOOD!, whilst Jimmy Page's solo at the end is SPELLBINDING!, a ABSOLUTELY STUNNING Guitar solo by Jimmy, sending shivers down my spine!. Based on my description of side 1's play, I would grade side 1 as only VG-(minus), side 2 as mentioned plays beautifully with no problems, and is visually much much better than side 1, with only a few light marks, EX condition.
The label's would be graded a STUNNING MINT-, but for a name written on side 2 in the red section, apart from this minor intrusion, their is no other unwanted writing, and no scuffs, the spindal hole shows minimal wear, the label's are lovely and clean and crisp, maintaining all their original bright vibrant colours.
The vinyl is housed in a white inner sleeve and in EX+ condition, lovely and clean, with no unwanted writing and no seam splits.
Altogether a respectable copy of this MEGA RARE 1969 original 1st UK, 1st press LP by LED ZEPPELIN, Self-Titled, with the TURQUOISE lettering, and "Superhype" publishing credits on the label's.
