LED ZEPPELIN 1ST RED/PLUM A1/B1 CORRECTED MATRIX - RARE
Description
LED ZEPPELIN
"LED ZEPPELIN"
588 171 A1/B1
RARE CORRECTED MATRIX - 2ND '8' CROSSED OUT THEN HAND ETCHED BACK IN...!
PLAYGRADED: not simply glanced at with a superficial visual grading, fully played and graded throughout (listened to on headphones - the most revealing playgrade method, with no exterior audio distractions)
OUTER SLEEVE:
Original MacNeill Press Ltd 1st press with wide grey stripe at the base and featuring the "UPTIGHT AN' OUTASIGHT" text. Original laminate sleeves usually feature lots of laminate creases and lift, this one is very nice indeed and shows only light handling use overall. Not too bad and better than a lot more I've seen.
SPINE
Fairly flattened, moderate wear, still perfectly legible
TOP AND BOTTOM EDGES
Are virtually completely unworn and in incredible condition thanks to the protection from the laminate finish.
OPENING EDGES
Moderate feathering and thumbing to the opening edges, but still reasonable!
VINYL:
5 8 88 1 7 1 A // 1 1 2
5 8 88 1 7 1 B // 1 1 01
(CORRECTED MATRIX ON BOTH SIDES...THE 2ND OF THE '8's CROSSED OUT AND THEN ETCHED BACK IN BY HAND)
Mostly it plays better than it looks! Plays through with no jumps or sticks throughout. Audio tone is stunning with amazing clarity on all frequencies. Absolutely no distortion from groove wear. Several obvious marks and scratches and has obviously been well played in the last 41 years! Could do with a thorough, deep clean as this may improve the audio. there is light background crackle throughout and regular light pops and clicks (mainly covered extremely well by the audio in the louder parts), fairly prominent in quiet sections.
Worst scratch is 3 prominent clicks at start of "Your time is gonna come". Still plays through without jumping or sticking.
Still an enjoyable listen and still way better than the 70's reissues!
LABELS:
The classic red/plum labels are in good condition, A side is superb, but some numpty has written 'REEVE' on the B side...!
INNER SLEEVE:
Just a plain poly lined white one.
POSTAGE AND PACKING:
I recycle as much existing material as possible and reuse record mailers if they are of good enough quality. Edges and corners are reinforced with packing tape. Stiffeners are used to strengthen and support the record.
Vinyl is removed from the outer gatefold to prevent any 'knifing' to the outer sleeve.
I ship in the UK using Royal Mail 1st Class. A certificate of postage is obtained for every item. Signed for delivery is available on request at extra cost. Please ask.
Feedback is left for buyers once they have contacted me and left feedback stating they are happy with their purchase. Should there be any issues, please contact me first.
I ship worldwide. Item will be shipped in board-backed envelope for maximum protection.
