Description

This is an Auction for the debut Lp by Led Zeppelin released in the Uk in 1969 on Atlantic records Catalogue number Atlantic 588171. This is a first press with the Warners Credit and the matrix numbers of 58871 A1 and 588171 B1 . There is an 8 crossed out on both numbers and another 8 hand etched over it.

The Sleeve with the Orange lettering and grey strip along the bottom is in Excellent condition. There is some very very light wear to the corners and a couple of creases but it still looks great. The pinched spine looks particularly good.

The Vinyl is visually in Excellent condition with a lovely sheen. It sits nice and flat on the turntable and plays through without any skips or jumps. There is some light background noise which is obviously more prevalent in the quiet sections but on the whole this album thunders highlighting that the only way to really appreciate this Lp is with a first press. Overall i would grade the Audio as a conservative Very Good++ if not better for a 41 year old Lp.

The labels are in Excellent condition.

Overall an excellent copy of one of the best debut Lp's of all time.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
