COVER - NEAR MINT MINUS NM-  Original thick cardboard single type art cover Columbia Records withdrew the cover after only a few were printed and reached the shelves. Includes original textured cardboard fold-out (6'x6' unfolded state) color booklet with lyrics and credits. The front cover has the original very early located only on the 1st issue rectangular black "Album Contains Lyrics Within" approximately 3' x 2.3' sticker with the KCS 9737 catalog number, whose design and color was changed on all of the subsequent issues, still affixed to the front panel cover on the shrinkwrap. This unique withdrawn cover demonstrates a very strange catalog number indexing, the front cover and spine have CS 9737, but the back cover shows KCS 9737. The different catalog numbers could most likely be explained by the fact that the release of the album was delayed (therefore the older numbering KCS which was introduced in 1968) and the withdrawn front slick was used mistakenly at some point later when more sleeves were needed, because the back cover has the usual KCS number. Cover is still in its original shrink (cellophane) wrap. The shrink is fully intact with the original breathe holes.
