Description
LARRY NORMAN / JESUS ROCK - SALT COMPANY VINYL 45 - ULTRA RARE!!!
Larry Norman is NOT singing on this 45. It just belonged to him and came from his record collection. It has a tenuous connection to Larry Norman, but he was an important figure in the scene that spawned this 45 RPM single. It was put out by The Salt Company, a Christian coffeehouse in Hollywood, CA, that was the social center and meeting place of choice for members of the Jesus Movement. I don't know anything about this record other than the fact that I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere on the internet. So apparently it's VERY VERY rare, and a must-have, curious collector's item for anyone who is interested in the Jesus Movement and its artifacts.
It's a full production of what could be best described as "Country Rock", with drums, lap steel or pedal steel guitars, and some Hillbilly twang delivered by a scratchy vocal that sounds a bit like Bob Dylan, though it obviously isn't.
SIDE ONE: All Along The Watchtower
SIDE TWO: Weeping for Jerusalem
VINYL CONDITION: VG+ to Near Mint.
This item is from Larry Norman's private collection and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Solid Rock.
