A decade on from Spectre, Slovenia's most provocative export Laibach returns with a record that feels brilliantly confrontational. Musick weaponises pop in many different forms - K-pop gloss, Eurodance nostalgia, J-pop sugar and subverts it from the inside out. The title says everything: we are simultaneously sick of music and pathologically devoted to it, drowning in 100,000 AI-generated tracks daily while still craving something real. Recorded in Ljubljana with analogue synths, toys, and collaborators Richard X and Donna Marina Martensson, it is maximalist, sardonic and utterly Laibach, always with a sense of camp Eurovision excess and playful silliness that means they make the kitsch sound rather irresistible.
