Description
Knights: Across The Boards (Ace MG-200,854) str VG with VG cover name on back cover 1966 Western MA prep rock gem from Mt Hermon School--one side of LP is way cool garage rock covers of Zombies, Animals, Stones, etc similar to the sound of a decent Justice band plus the killer original instrumental "Tale of a 280 lb Shoe Salesman" off (I think) Strummin Mental comp while other side is jazzy big band crud. This is in my estimation their 2nd best album next to 1967 which is their tour-de-force.
Note: There albums (they released TEN LPs circa 1958 - '69 if you also count the Silent Cheer which is the Hermon Knights under a pseudonym) were done in extremely limited pressings and can't imagine there were more than 500 of each made, which was sold exclusively to friends and family and never commercially distributed. I have them all and they hardly ever come up for sale!
