Description
The Kinks “Are The Village Green Preservation Society”. Rare Original pressing 1968 French 12-Track LP. Issued in a different picture sleeve and alternate track listing than the U.K. Version including the tracks “Days” and “Mr. Songbird”.
Plum colored “Pye” label with laminated flipback cover. Original fold-out catalog booklet included.
LP SLEEVE: beautifully preserved copy of this delicately constructed sleeve. These sleeves were very thin and fragile and very easily damaged. This one here is in stunning condition, however. No seam-splits, rips, or tears. Laminate is fully adhered to the front cover with no lifting or cracking, and has a beautiful shiny gloss to the front. If you were to tilt the sleeve at an angle against direct sunlight and scrutinize it very closely, there is s barely visible, super thin wrinkle to the laminate. This tiny wrinkle is essentially invisible and very hard to even photograph (see pic). All four corners are sharp and crisp with a slight crinkle to the upper-right (see photo within the collage). The back panel is just amazing in that it still retains its glorious, bright white color and is free of any other marks (see pics).
VINYL: Has a beautiful, shiny, deep sheen to it. Smooth surface. If you were to tilt the vinyl at an angle against direct sunlight, some wispy hairline marks and line marks become noticeable. These marks are otherwise very difficult to detect under normal room light. To my trained eye, these marks appear to be merely superficial. The photos in the collage were taken in very bright and direct sunlight but under normal room light, these marks are basically invisible. I no longer own a functional turntable so I cannot play test it to be certain, however. Being sold as is. Please see the collage picture #12 where the photo on the left taken outside in direct sunlight and tilted at an angle reveals some line marks, then the photo on the right side taken under normal room light of the exact same spot on the vinyl where the mark is no longer visible.
INNER SLEEVE: plain white with poly-lined inside. Excellent.
ORIGINAL FOLD-OUT INSERT: Excellent. No rips or tears
